If you’ve recently made the switch to Firefox as your browser of choice, you might be wondering how to get Google back as your home page (the page that opens up automatically when you open your browser). There are several ways to do this, and if you’re using Internet Explorer or any other browser, this will work with them as well! Here’s how to make google my home page again using Firefox. It’s simple!
Right click your internet browser
Once you’ve searched for how do i make google my home page, open up a new tab and right click your Internet browser of choice. You should see an option to change or set it as your default homepage.
If you don’t see any options when you right click your browser, try opening up Internet Explorer or Firefox and following along with these steps: Open up a new tab and click on Internet Options. This is where you can change your homepage and search engine preferences. Select Use Google as Your Default Search Engine. Click OK. You might have to restart your browser for these changes to take effect.
Cancel Windows 10 update - Third Paragraph: Most people are aware that their computer updates automatically, but it turns out that Windows 10 takes things one step further than previous versions of Windows.
Click Properties
You’ll need to open up your browser, click on Settings and then select Options. From there, scroll down until you see Use Current Page as Home Page. Once you check that box, all you have to do is restart your browser and Google will be set as your default homepage. If for some reason it doesn't work try visiting another website before going back into settings because sometimes it will reset itself when opening a new tab.
Another good option is Internet Explorer, which you can also change in its settings menu. Once you’re there, go to View and then Internet Options. From there, go down until you see Tabs Under The Address Bar and check that box. Once again, restart your browser and all of your tabs will be under Google Chrome instead of Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer.
If you’re using Mozilla Firefox, it’s a little bit different. If you haven’t already, click on Tools and then Options. Once there, go down until you see Main. Here you can either check or uncheck Home Page, which should be Google by default if you don't have it customized. Restart your browser and your homepage will automatically open in Google Chrome rather than Mozilla Firefox.
Look at the Shortcut tab
This is where you will want to change your browser's default homepage and new tab. To do so, follow these steps: 1) Select Start Menu, Control Panel, and then Default Programs. 2) Next, select Set your Default Programs from within Control Panel. 3) Click on Internet Explorer under Programs. 4) You should see an option labeled Home Page. 5) Choose how you would like your browser's home page (and/or new tab) webpage to open by clicking on either Use Current or Use Defaults for All Pages.
You can change your default search engine by clicking on Use Current, followed by Manage Add-ons. Then select Search Providers and pick your preferred search engine in order for it to be displayed as your browser's homepage. Be aware that not all browsers will allow you to change or edit their settings in exactly the same way; however, if you are able to set a new homepage then it should be quite simple. If you have any problems while completing these steps, contact your Internet browser's support team directly so they can help resolve them for you.
If you would like your browser's homepage to show more than just a few default search results, then you can change how many are displayed by clicking on Use Defaults for All Pages. This will help save time and effort because your browser will automatically populate its homepage with several search results of your choice instead of simply one. Simply choose how many search results you would like displayed (such as 5, 10 or 15) and then press OK. In addition, if you select Keep Personal Settings it will keep all of your webpages, bookmarks and other details so that they are instantly available when you open another internet browser window or restart your computer. How do I know what to set as my home page?
Change what it opens to
A simple solution is to open your browser and type in view advanced settings. Once you're there, click on General and look for a box that says home page. Enter your desired web address, then change it. On most browsers, you can also go into favorites and add a new website there if you need one.
Whether you're using Internet Explorer, Chrome or Firefox, changing your browser's home page is easy. In each case, you'll need to open a new browser window. From there, click on settings in your toolbar and type home into the search box that appears. Whatever browser you're using, it's probably worth checking out your browsing options before you do anything. For example, Google Chrome lets you change a number of default settings and features including auto-complete, pop-up blocking and more by visiting Settings > Show Advanced Settings in your address bar. If you’re on an iOS device such as an iPhone or iPad, Safari lets you change its default search engine by going into Preferences and tapping Search Engine.
